This presentation covers the history of the beliefs about the earth’s origin from Adam until today and how these beliefs have impacted the worldviews of believers and non-believers. It starts in the Old Testament where we see the Creator in direct contrast to the pagan gods of the day, and then moves into the time of Christ, the New Testament and the early church. The discussion then moves on to impacts on the Reformation, the Enlightenment and the early introduction of modern evolutionary theory. Some time is then spent on the spread of evolutionary thought into today and the impact it has had on society and the church.
