Taking Names for 2nd Raft on Grand Canyon Trip July 10

Not everyone can go on a 3 or 7-day raft trip in the Grand Canyon, so here’s the next best thing – a ½ day raft trip starting at Glen Canyon Dam at Page, Arizona, and floating 15 scenic miles downstream to historic Lee’s Ferry. Jim Clarke, AzOSA Resident Geologist, will be on hand to discuss the area’s geology. This event is “kid friendly” for ages 4 and up! We have sold the 22 seats for the first raft and have started a waiting list to add a 2nd raft. If nine more people sign up we can add the second raft. Click HERE for details.

New AzOSA Treasurer Needed

Edwin Zimmer, CPA, has decided to step down as AzOSA Treasurer. He has accomplished a great service to us and the Lord by elevating the level of our record keeping and compliance with Federal and State regulations. We thank him most sincerely for what he has accomplished for AzOSA. We now need an accountant or a CPA to step up and take over the office of Treasurer. If you are interested or can refer someone you know and trust who has a heart for ministry and is qualified, please have them contact Edwin at 480-216-4660 or edzimmer@yahoo.com to learn what this would entail. Thank you.

Microscope Lab August 28

Mark Armitage of Creation Research Society will conduct another Light and Electron Microscope Lab for AzOSA in Chino Valley at the Van Andel Creation Research Center on Saturday, August 28. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants, however, only one person has signed up thus far. If you are considering this, please sign up soon so we can move ahead with our plans to offer this wonderful learning experience with a world-class master of light and electron microscopes. If we don’t have the minimum required registrants by August 9th, the event will be cancelled. Please click HERE for details.

We hope to have several hundred youth and leaders benefit from this dynamic seminar. Click HERE to sign up. Please download the poster for details, publicize this in your churches and give to your Youth Leaders. Thank you.

“SPLICE” Movie Review

Many years ago AzOSA had a presentation on how evolution was portrayed in Hollywood movies. Recently the movie ‘Splice’ depicts the laboratory creation of Dren, who is a composite of human and various types of animals. At first glance one would say ‘this is not about evolution, as Dren is created’. But Dren was not the larva like creature suitable for producing biochemical cocktails the scientists expected.
